This is the biography of Chen Zhiniang, an ordinary Indonesian-born Chinese women whose life continues to impact the world today. In obedience to her father, she left Indonesia and followed her previously widowed Chinese husband back to Xiamen in Fujian Province. She gave birth to seven sons (Paul, John, Peter, Caleb, Solomon, Stephen and Joseph), five of whom would later become Christian ministers, and one daughter (Mary). Her husband died when the children were still young, and she was left to raise the children on her own. Her son, well-known pastor and teacher Stephen Tong (Tang) says, "When I was small, the first words I'd hear in the morning were those of my mother while she prayed. She prayed for each of us children by name, and asked God to guide us." This book tells the story of the life and faith of this remarkable woman.
Author: This book was authored by Chen Zhiniang's daughter-in-law, who is a foreigner. She interviewed her mother-in-law several times, recorded the interview and wrote the book in English, which was later translated into Chinese.
